Valentino has apologized for its public relations mistake after it posted a press release noting that she was carrying one of the company's bag in pictures, even though she was on her way to Philip Seymour Hoffman's wake.

On Thursday, PR agent Upasna Khosla said that Adams was spotted carrying the new $2,500 Valentino bag, reports New York Daily News. What wasn't mentioned was that Adams was on her way to Hoffman's wake.

The email said, "We are pleased to announce Amy Adams carrying the Valentino Garavani Rockstud Duble bag from the Spring/Summer 2014 collection on Feb. 6 in New York." Photos were also provided.

Then on Friday, the Italian fashion house apologized after receiving flack for the press release, according to Entertainment Wise.

Valentino spokeswoman Mona Swanson apologized saying, "We sincerely regret releasing a photo to the media this morning of Amy Adams with a Valentino bag." She added that the company had not known where she was going at the time of the photos.

Adams' reps haven't been happy about the mistake, as they told Page Six that they were upset over the photos and making it appear that the actress is involved in promoting the bag while attending the wake of her friend.
