Veep star Julia Louis-Dreyfus was seated right next to Vice President Joe Biden at the White House state dinner on Tuesday night, which honored French President Francois Hollande.

Dreyfus, who plays a Vice President on her HBO show, took to Twitter to show off a photo of herself next to Biden, calling it an “unforgettable evening.”

According to ABC News, Dreyfus was asked what her favorite part of the night was and she replied, “Look who I’m sitting next to.” Biden then joked that the former Seinfeld star was his “date” for the evening.

“Hey, stop screwin’ around, she’s my date!” he laughed, adding, “Just kidding.”
USA Today reports that Dreyfus, who plays Selina Meyer on the Emmy-award winning Veep, brought her father, Gerard Louis-Dreyfus, along for the special night.
The actress and the Vice President know each other well by now, as he has previously agreed to meet with her to do research for her character as a fictional Vice President.
