The Dutchess of Cambridge’s sister, Pippa Middleton, was dropped from the book publisher, Viking Press, after her book Celebrate wasn’t as successful as anticipated.

According to an article in The Sunday Times, Middleton’s book only sold 18,000 copies in the United States. According to Entertainment Wise, the publishing company is blaming the strict rules of the royal family for the low number of book sales.

It was said that Middleton was banned from any type of press and media interviews in regard to publicizing her book. They were afraid that in the midst of the interviews she would give away any royal information that shouldn’t be shared. Also, according to Entertainment Wise, when Celebrate finally hit the shelves; a mocking social media account called Pippa’s Tips became more popular than the actual book.

According to Glamour, a source from the publisher told The Sunday Times, “Pippa’s Celebrate sales are nothing to celebrate. She was a superstar after the wedding, and everybody thought it would be a success. Even Sarah Ferguson sold more books when she started her writing career.”

But Middleton has nothing to worry about, despite not being able to publish the follow up to Celebrate, her writing career isn’t over. According to Glamour, she’s still has deals with Vanity Fair and Waitrose magazine.
