On the heels of Woody Allen’s recent Golden Globe Lifetime Achievement award, his adoptive daughter Dylan Farrow, 28, published a detailed account of what she says was sexual abuse at the hands of Allen.
“These things happened so often, so routinely, so skillfully hidden from a mother that would have protected me had she known, that I thought it was normal,” writes Sparrow in the published New York Times essay.
Farrow claimed the assault happened when she was seven years old and led to a “diagnosis of belated PTSD years later,” reports Jeff Sneider of The Wrap.
Allen was never convicted of sexually assaulting Sparrow and has denied the allegations.
Aside from sharing her story, Farrow criticized Hollywood for nominating Allen for another Oscar for his screenplay “Blue Jasmine”.
“What if it had been your child, Cate Blanchett? Louis CK? Alec Baldwin? What if it had been you Emma Stone? Or you, Scarlett Johansson? You knew me when I was a little girl, Diane Keaton. Have you forgotten me,” said Sparrow.
