Desmond Harrington, who was a major actor featured on Dexter has signed on to join the cast of the upcoming The Astronaut Wives Club. Harrington will be playing a Mercury 7 astronaut in ABC's The Astronaut Wives Club, Variety reported.
This is not the first time that Harrington has worked with Savage, they worked together previously on the CW's hit drama Gossip Girl.
Deadline reported that Nick Cassavetes will be directing the upcoming TV series. This will mark the first TV debut for Cassavetes, who is known for his work on The Notebook.
Harrington will be playing Alan Shepard, who was one of the first astronauts in space. Shepard had a reputation for being a bad boy and a playboy but in fact, he was married to his wife for over 53 years.
The ten eposide mini-series contains a mostly female cast. The cast consists of JoAnna Garcia, Azure Parsons, Zoe Boyle and Odette Annable.
The series is going to be released sometime this summer but no official date has been announced.
