Shirley Jones is celebrating her 80th birthday in great form. She is planning a skydiving adventure.

According to the Associated Press, Jones said, "That's something I wanted to do all my life.”

The actress is known for her role on TV’s The Partridge Family. The Partridge Family was a breakout 70s hit that also starred David Cassidy. Jones also starred in several Broadway shows including Oklahoma! and Carousel. She got an Academy Award for her role in Elmer Gantry. According to Parade, Jones says that she doesn’t feel like a “spoiled Hollywood movie star or a jaded TV icon.”

The Oscar winning actress is taking into consideration all of the dangers inherent in skydiving. She has decided to do a tandem jump for her birthday. She will be jumping in tandem on Monday with an instructor in Perris, a popular Southern California diving spot.
