Rumors have been circulating over season four of American Horror Story and, finally, writer Douglas Petrie has confirmed the new season will feature a carnival theme.
According to the Huffington Post, when Petrie was first asked in a podcast with Nerdist Writer Panel, the writer and co-executive producer responded with, “I can say nothing.”
Fortunately, Moira Kirland, a writer for Castle and Arrow, who was also on the podcast, mentioned she heard the carnival theme was circulating as an option.
With that, Petrie responded, “Yes – that was the, it – it doesn’t have a title.”
Petrie went on to confirm the concept saying, “That’s the idea, that’s very roughly the idea.”
FX has yet to comment on this new information, but, according to The Hollywood Reporter, the new season will take place in the 1950s.
This will be the last season for star Jessica Lange, who played the Supreme in American Horror Story: Coven. Further casting has not been announced. However, creators of the hit series and a group of the cast are set to appear at the American Horror Story panel at PaleyFest on March 28, where it is speculated the fourth season concept may be released, as last year Ryan Murphy revealed the subtitle and concept for Coven.
