The Amazing Spiderman actor Andrew Garfield spent a day with “Batkid” Miles Scott and his family at Disneyland since their segment was cut from the Oscars.

A spokesperson from the Academy told US Magazine. the reason behind the decision of cutting the segment.

"Due to the nature of a live show, hard decisions sometimes must be made which require the Academy to cut segments due to the logistics of production. Andrew Garfield understood that his segment had to be omitted, and he drove to Disneyland on Monday to spend time with 5-year-old Miles Scott (Batkid) and his family."

In response to the incident Garfield’s representative Rober Fowler said that the actor and “Batkid” were both “equally upset. Fowler told US Magazine what Garfield,30, had planned for the show and how it came to a screeching halt.

Fowler said, "In full collaboration with the Academy and the show writer, Andrew prepared a segment for the Oscars to honor Miles Scott as the true hero that he is. At some point overnight on Saturday/Sunday morning, it was decided by those running the show that the segment didn't work in the ceremony."

Due to Garfield’s absence Captain America Chris Evan filled in his spot. The Scott family had traveled to Los Angeles for the award show, and was given the news on Sunday that the segment would not be airing.

Garfield and Scott were not the only ones disappointed with the decisions made. Scott’s mother Natalie Scott told International Business Times. "It got pulled so quickly that we didn't have a lot of insight into what was going on, It is kind of a disappointment, but things happen. I know that's how TV goes and how Hollywood is. We're just not used to that."
