Pharrell Williams, who performed his hit song “Happy” at the Academy Awards on Sunday, has sold the Vivienne Westwood hat he wore at this year’s Grammys.
The hat caused quite a stir on Twitter, even spurring its own account called @PharrellsHat.
It’s been revealed that the hat has sold on eBay for $44,100 and Arby’s has revealed themselves as the buyers.
After Williams tweeted how happy he was that the proceeds would be going to charity, Arby’s tweeted back and let him know they bought the hat.
Thank you to whoever bought my Grammy hat on @eBay for $44,100. Your donation benefits From One Hand To AnOTHER.

Arby’s tweeted back:
.@Pharrell You're welcome. We're HAPPY to support a great cause & get our hat back. Good luck at the #Oscars tonight! pic.twitter.com/2oA7qDPX9z

When Williams first wore the hat at the Grammys, Arby’s pointed out that it resembled the hat in their logo. They wrote at the time, “Hey @Pharrell, can we have our hat back? #GRAMMYs.”
At Sunday night’s Oscars, Williams wore a similar hat. He got the crowd going during his performance of "Happy" from the movie Despicable Me 2, even dancing with some of the audience-members like Lupita Nyong'o and Amy Adams.
