Avicii has been forced to cancel his performance at ULTRA Music Festival, as well as other shows in Miami, due to a blocked gall bladder.
The 24-year-old Swedish born DJ, whose real name is Tim Bergling, was hospitalized on Thursday after experiencing abdominal pain, nausea, and fever from a blocked gall bladder, reports The Miami Herald.
“He has been diagnosed as having a blocked gall bladder and is currently being evaluated for a potential surgery to remove his gall bladder,” his publicist said on Friday, according to Billboard.
Avicii was scheduled to perform on the Main Stage at ULTRA Music Festival on Saturday, as well as at the SLS South Beach Hotel on Thursday. He was forced to cancel due to his hospitalization.
ULTRA later announced that Deadmau5 would be replacing Avicii in his timeslot.
“At the hospital," Avicii tweeted, in a post that has since been deleted. "Extremely bummed about missing my show at the Avicii Hotel. My brother @Alesso is stepping up and covering for me.”
Avicii is best known for his hit songs such as “Levels” and “Don’t Wake Me Up”.
