A warrant has been issued for singer Anita Baker’s arrest for allegedly not paying $15,000 for work that was done on her Grosse Pointe, Michigan home four years ago.
The bench warrant stems from the “Sweet Love” singer failing to appear in Wayne County Circuit Court back in September for a creditor's examination.
Baker was sued by Ray Smith Painting and Decorating, who claims she didn’t pay for various jobs like painting, plastering and carpentry in 2009.
According to Detroit Free Press, the lawyer representing the company, Dan Gerow, said, “I just want to collect the money.”
After the reports came out that a bench warrant was issued for her, she has not responded for official comment but she did take to Twitter.
“WHATTT??!!... sittin' in the kitchen watching this on TV. BIG time crazy. Atty on his way to TV Station. Devil sho is busy,” she wrote.
