Betsy Brandt doesn't seem to have much confidence that NBC's The Michael J. Fox show will make a return to TV - like the show's star might - as she has signed on for a recurring role on the next season of Showtime's critically-acclaimed Masters of Sex.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, who first reported the casting, Brandt will play Dr William Masters' (Michael Sheen) new secretary.
Her character, Barbara, will take over as secretary from Miss Horchow (Margo Martindale) and Libby (Caitlin Fitzgerald), who each performed as secretary for a short while.
Brandt played Fox's wife in the cancelled NBC comedy and also was on Breaking Bad. Keke Palmer also signed on recently for a recurring role on the Showtime program.
AV Club notes that Brandt is actually the second actor from The Michael J. Fox Show to head to Showtime following the show's removal from TV. Wendell Pierce is set to guest star on Ray Donovan, in addition to joining the pilot of CBS' The Odd Couple.
