The executive producer and showrunner of CBS' The Big Bang Theory has signed a deal with Warner Bros. Television.
Steve Molaro will remain working on the show as well as look to develop new projects for the TV studio, which produces Big Bang , according to The Hollywood Reporter, who first reported the deal. The contract length is for three years.
Molaro has only been the showrunner for two seasons, but has worked on the show since the beginning. He first started out as a writer and producer before being promoted several times up to supervising producer and exec producer.
The length of the contract is likely not a coincidence as earlier in the week CBS announced that Big Bang was renewed for another three seasons.
The No. 1 Thursday night program will now, provided viewers don't completely abandon the show, last at least until its 10th season. The show is averaging 19.79 million viewers in its seventh season.
