Bindi Irwin, daughter of the late Steve Irwin, getting heat after teaming up with SeaWorld for new promotional campaign.

WENN reports that Irwin has teamed up with SeaWorld for a promotional campaign that is geared towards children.

"I'm thrilled to be empowering kids," Irwin said. "I'm thrilled to be partnered up with SeaWorld. Thrilled to be part of this new project Generation Nature and just encouraging kids to change the world."

According to Us Weekly, Generation Nature is a way for kids to get involved with saving wildlife.

However, the People for the Ethical Treatment for animals, PETA, is disappointed in Irwin's decision to work with SeaWorld after the park has been criticized by both the organization, and the documentary series Blackfish, which details the cruel treatment of the animals being held in captivity there.

"Plastering her face on SeaWorld's website won't cover up the fact that orcas, dolphins, and other animals are suffering in SeaWorld's tiny tanks after being ripped from their families," a PETA representative said in a statement. "SeaWorld is no place for anyone who truly cares about animals."

Bindi, 15, has a television show, a few books, and a couple of film credits. Her younger brother Robert, 10, is working on his own book series as well as a television project.

Irwin has not responded to the backlash from PETA.
