Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown’s daughter, Bobbi Kristina Brown, spoke out on Twitter Jan. 9, 2014 to declare that she had secretly gotten married to Nick Gordon.

According to People, the couple’s relationship had always been controversial. Whitney Houston, Bobbi Kristina’s mother, was said to have raised Gordon as if he was her son. Legally, Houston had never adopted Gordon.

Bobbi Kristina defended her relationship with Gordon saying her mother would have approved their relationship.

“Let me clear up something, we aren’t even real brother and sister, nor is he my adoptive brother. My mom never adopted him,” Bobbi Kristina said according to People. “Mommy was the one who even said that she knew that we were going to start dating.”

Now that the couple has been married, there still seems to be one person that doesn’t know, Bobbi Kristina’s father, Bobby. The 45-year-old R&B singer seemed to be sure that his daughter was still single when he spoke with TMZ in Beverly Hills on Monday.

“No, she didn’t get married. She’s still single,” Brown told the TMZ cameras.

However, later in the video he sounds unsure of his daughter’s marriage when he is asked what he would say about the reports that confirm that Bobbi Kristina is married.

“I don’t know yet. I don’t know as of right now,” Brown said. “If she says she is, I don’t know about it.”

He said that he had not gone to any wedding ceremony, but he’d be happy to get his daughter his blessing “if she chose the right one…”
