Louis C.K. can’t get it right all the time and Bradley Cooper, who got to smack him upside the head with a phone in American Hustle, proved the comedian wrong. C.K. said that no young actor who’s ever asked a question on Inside The Actors Studio ever get to be famous.
Well guess what? Cooper got to ask Sean Penn a question when he was just a “second-year actor” and he’s now one of the most popular stars in the world.
All this came to light in a video that’s drawn nearly 300,000 views on YouTube since it was posted on Tuesday. It turns out that C.K. told Stephen Merchant on his show in 2009 that Inside The Actors Studio audience members never get famous, notes USA Today. “There's no way you ask Sean Penn a question and then you're going to be huge,” C.K. said.
But YouTube user GAabriel Antunes discovered that Cooper actually asked Penn a question on the James Lipton-hosted show. GAabriel Antunes ended his clip with a perfectly-used scene from American Hustle.
Since Cooper asked Penn a question, he’s starred in Wedding Crashers, The Hangover and others and has earned two Oscar nominations.
