After years of being pulled out of the spotlight the cast members of Veronica Mars are back in business, and this time it's all thanks to their amazing, supporting fans who raised twice as much money as needed through a historic crowd raising campaign called Kickstarter.

On Sat. March 8, the cast members of the movie Veronica Mars were excited to attend the annual South by South West festival in Austin, Texas. The cast reunited on the red carpet to talk about the amazing experience they had after being off the show for so many years.

A year ago, director Rob Thomas launched a Kickstarter campaign for the movie that raised twice as much money as needed. Thomas, described it as the best thing that had ever happened to him in his career.
"It has been a struggle...It's humbling and I can't believe we're here," he said.

According to E! Online, in the Veronica Mars movie, Rob Thomas and Diane Ruggiero return to Neptune for another go around in the seedy world of the beloved TV series about a teenage private eye. The movie has a few twists and turns, but much like the show, the movie stays very true to the heart and soul of the TV series.

Among the many cast members that attended SXSW, Kristen Bell, who plays Veronica Mars, was extremely humbled and could not believe it was happening. "It was a very long road to get it here and made and it was a slow climb for a very long time until we went live with the Kickstarter page." I could not believe it," said Bell.

The Veronica Mars movie picks up after the fearless character walks away from Southern California after becoming the center of attention because of a leaked sex tape. According to E! Online , her return to Neptune also just happens to coincide with her 10-year high school reunion. A pariah in high school, Veronica's outsider status still stands 10 years later. The setting allows for the return of many familiar Veronica Mars faces, from Gia Goodman (Krysten Ritter) to former Neptune deputy Leo (Max Greenfield). It's definitely what the fans have been waiting for.

Veronica Mars opens in select theaters on Friday, March 14. and can also be downloaded same day as release.
