CBS has announced the premiere dates for Extant, the new mini-series starring Halle Berry and co-produced by Steven Spielberg’s Amblin. The network also confirmed when Stephen King’s Under The Dome will be back for a second season.
Extant stars Berry as an astronaut who arrives home after a year-long solo mission. Her life will have a surprising impact on human history. The show will start on Wednesday, July 9, rather than July 2 as previously stated. It will air at 9 p.m.
Under The Dome, based on the King novel, will kick off its second season on Monday, June 30 at 10 p.m. The show tells the story of Chester’s Mill, a town that has been cut off from the world by a mysterious dome. Although the show was envisioned as a mini-series, its success last summer sparked the decision to expand it.
The latest season of the Big Brother reality series will kick off on Wednesday, June 25 at 8 p.m. The first Thursday episode will premiere a day later at 9 p.m. The Sunday episode will premiere on June 29 at 8 p.m.
The Anna Wood-starring Reckless begins on Sunday, June 29 after Big Brother. Following Reckless will be Unforgettable with Poppy Montgomery. That means that CBS will have three straight hours of new shows on Sundays during the summer.
