Chris Harrison is confirming reports that the newest Bachelor star, Juan Pablo Galavis, wasn’t the most ideal. He wrote in a blog post that while he doesn’t dislike the former soccer star, he did feel uneasy about the choice.
He wrote in his Entertainment Weekly blog that now that everything is said and done, he will admit it didn’t “feel right” since the beginning.
He cleared up, “For some reason I feel that there is some notion that I dislike him, and that’s just not the truth.” He also wrote he’s “not mad about how the season ended nor am I angry with Juan Pablo.
Harrison went on to write that he did believe Galavis had the “qualities that would make him a great Bachelor” and did embrace the process at times, there were other times that were more difficult.
“But from the beginning something just didn't seem right and something didn't fit. We can debate over what that is, but the truth is that is irrelevant,” he said.
As for the animosity with runner-up Clare Crawley, Harrison said he “was very sorry to see it end like that because it didn't have to. That was a choice made entirely by Juan Pablo."
As we previously reported, there are reports circulating that Galavis is now known as the “worst” Bachelor in the show’s history and the producers were happy to see this season wrap up. He’s been in hot water a number of times this season, specifically for the anti-gay comments he made.
