That’s right. Former secretary of State and retired Army general Colin Powell posted an epic 60 year old “selfie” in honor of throwback Thursday on Facebook. In the photo, the then young and quite handsome Powell is standing in front of a mirror and pointing the camera forward.
Powell captioned the photo, “I was doing selfies 60 years before you Facebook folks. Eat your heart out Ellen!” notes USA Today.
Powell, 76, took a jab at funny women Ellen DeGeneres. DeGeneres made selfie history when she tweeted out a selfie with A-list stars like Bradley Cooper, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lawrence, Meryl Streep and many more at the Oscars. Her tweet was retweeted 3.3 million times a record for social media reports the NY Daily News.
We later learned the epic Oscar selfie was a publicity stunt by Samsung notes NPR.
Since DeGeneres is 56, Powell took the selfie long before the comedian was even born.
So who wins the award foe greatest selfie? We are going to have to go with Powell on this one.
