Professional dancer Peta Murgatroyd gave some insight as to why Erin Andrews has replaced Brooke Burke Charvet as host on Dancing with the Stars on her blog.
The dancer, who has been teamed up with Big Time Rush star James Maslow this season, said the changes to the show were necessary.
“I think the changes are a great thing. Brooke [Burke-Charvet] has been an amazing host and she's such a beautiful person, but I think the show needs to develop a little bit more,” she wrote on her People blog.
“We are trying to create a younger demographic watching our show. I really think we need a younger vibe. Erin Andrews is like the girl-next-door. She's been hosting for so many years and she's a friend of mine,” she added.
When it was announced that Andrews would be replacing Burke Charvet, she took to Twitter to joke about being fired.
“Here's the skinny - The show found out Harold Wheeler, the band, Rob & me were putting together our own road show, so they fired us all!” she wrote.
