Cornerback Darrelle Revis signed a one-year contract with the New England Patriots on Wednesday worth a reported $12 million.
The deal came just a few short hours after the Tampa Bay Buccaneers parted ways with Revis after failing to find a trade partner, though the Cleveland Browns and Oakland Raiders did show interest, reports Boston.com.
Revis is a good pick up for the Patriots who lost Aqib Talib to the Denver Broncos, who offered the cornerback a six-year contract worth $57 million a day ago.
The deal for Revis is contingent upon him passing a physical, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter, who was the first to report the agreement.
Revis is still working his way back from a torn ACL, though it did not prevent the cornerback from playing in all 16 games last season with the Bucs. He signed a $96 million contract for six years with the Bucs, but only lasted one season posting 50 tackles, two interceptions and 11 defended passes.
