A celebratory occasion for rapper Rick Ross ended in a disaster over the weekend. Ross held an album release party for Mastermind in Atlanta, Georgia on Sunday but the party ended with gun shots.

Ross’ celebrity friends like Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs were on hand to celebrate at the Velvet Room nightclub. It’s being reported DJ Ronald Robinson, 39, fired shots at police and they fired back.

AllHipHop reports authorities say when two undercover cops, who were working as security at the club that night, heard gunshots outside of the nightclub, they went out there to see what was going on only to get shot by Robinson. The officers fired back, shooting him in the leg.

Robinson was able to walk back inside after getting shot but he was soon arrested and taken to a nearby hospital.

DeKalb County Police Chief Cedric Alexander told Atlanta Journal Constitution that Robinson is currently in stable condition.

“For whatever unknown reasons, it appears that this DJ who was involved in the shooting with some others turned and shot at the officers, and that’s when they returned fire,” said Alexander. “They were doing what they were trained to do. They took all the necessary actions to protect themselves and each other.”

Robinson has been charged with aggravated assault and the officers were not injured.
