The pizza delivery man who helped Ellen DeGeneres hand out pizza to the stars at the Oscars just received a nice payday from it-- $1,000.
Edgar Martirosyan, co-owner of Big Mama’s and Papa’s Pizzeria in West Hollywood, appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday to talk about his experience at the Oscars, reports USA Today.
Ellen took out Pharell’s hat in which she had collected tips from the audience at the awards show and handed Martirosyan $600. She then went into her own pocket and gave him another $400, for a total of $1,000.
“They told me I’m going to deliver pizzas for writers, and then when I went there, Ellen (DeGeneres) came out and told me, ‘Just follow me,’” Martirosyan told The NY Daily News. “When I was going, I realized I’m on the stage, and I just went. … I wasn’t nervous. I was cool. I was shocked. I didn’t know what was going on.”
It’s not surprising that business has since been booming for Big Mama’s and Papa’s Pizzeria.
