FX announced on Thursday that Archer has been renewed for a sixth and seventh season with the network.
The two upcoming seasons will be 13 episodes each, which would help the show get syndication deals, reports Deadline. The door is open for the animated show to return past that.
FX Networks original programming president Eric Schrier said, "Archer is one of the best comedies on television and has played a significant role in the growth of the FX comedy brand."
Schrier added, "We're grateful to Adam Reed, Matt Thompson and their team at Floyd County, and also our incredible voice cast."
The show has been doing well in the ratings, even into its fifth season, notes The Hollywood Reporter. The fifth season premiere, which saw Archer take the show in a new direction snagged a new record for the show with 1.65 million viewers and a 1.3 in the advertiser-important 18-49 demographic.
The fifth season is already about 2 percent higher in viewership over the fourth season, which had previously ranked as the most-watched. The show also overall one of the highest rated comedies on basic cable in the 18-34 and 18-49 demographics.
