Game of Thrones' actor Kristian Nairn, who plays fan-favorite Hodor, has revealed he is gay.

In an interview with Winteriscoming.net, Nairn revealed he was gay, but explained he wasn't hiding that information, it's just that no one has ever asked him. "I've been waiting for someone to ask about it in an interview, cos it's not something you just blurt out." He noted he's "tried to lead the questions a few times, to no avail!"

Nairn revealed his sexuality after being asked if he was aware of his popularity within the gay community as a "bear." The actor simply noted, "Well, in all honesty, when you talk about "the gay community," you are talking about MY community." He then added he did know about the interest.

The Irish actor took to Twitter after the interview was published and wrote about being amused over the headlines saying, "Yeah it's weird to see 'comes out' ... I was never in !!"

According to E! News, Nairn wasn't worried about parents getting upset about a gay actor being around their kids, explaining that it's something that hasn't been a problem the whole time he has been on the show.

Nairn's character Hodor has been a popular character among fans of GoT as his character only ever says his name and carries around Bran Stark, who is unable to walk on his own.
