George Lopez joked about his recent arrest for public intoxication in Canada during an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, which airs on Thursday.

The comedian and actor said he’s given up drinking since the incident, during which he was arrested after being discovered lying on the floor at a casino.

The 52-year-old Saint George star explained, "You know, I was on my way to my room -- I just missed it by 35 floors. The casino carpet is so loud. I'm like, how the hell can I sleep on that carpet? It was so loud, you know, and guys were betting on whether I would get up...And then one person came by and said, 'I didn't know the Dog Whisperer [Cesar Millan] drank that much.'"

Us Weekly reports Lopez said he hasn’t had “a drop of alcohol” since the incident, and joked about his Mexican heritage, “just because Mexicans invented tequila doesn't mean we can handle it.”

As we previously reported, the arrest took place at Caesar's Windsor casino late February. Security guards at the casino called local police, who came and arrested him.

He said in a statement at the time, “Tied one on last night. Not feeling great this morning. I was trying to sleep it off, unfortunately, it was on the casino floor."
