Actress Gwyneth Paltrow has been making headlines as of late. In addition to the recent news of her and husband, Chris Martin, separating, Paltrow is getting much ridicule from mom’s everywhere for comments she made in an interview about the difficulties of being an actress and a mother.
Paltrow talked candidly recently about the trials of being an actress and still finding time for her two children, Apple and Moses, reported E! News. Later pointing to the “routine” nature of an “office job,” Paltrow stated that it was difficult to be a mom and be an actress due to the “14 hour days.”
“I think to have a regular job and be a mom is not as, of course there are challenges, but it's not like being on set," said Paltrow.
Paltrow is now receiving much criticism for her comments on parenting.
In an open letter to Paltrow, a mom by the name of Mackenzie, fired back with remarks about her 45-minute commute to work and vast difference in pay scales. She also went on to point out the unrealistic cooking tips and shopping suggestions Paltrow gives on her website, Goop.
“So, Gwyneth, you’ve figured out the secret of working parents everywhere: Livin’ la vida desk job is a breeze compared to the 14-hour days of a film set. Fourteen hours? Who in New York — especially those in the finance, law and tech professions — could possibly work 14 whole hours? Luckily, those 9-to-5 “ordinary job” hours grow on trees here. And if you lose one, all you have to do is find another,” said Mackenzie to close her letter.
