Defensive end Jared Allen has agreed to a four-year deal with the Chicago Bears.
According to CBS Sports, Allen's deal voids down to three years at $24 million and includes $15.5 million in guaranteed money.
The former Minnesota Viking was rumored to be signing with the Dallas Cowboys or the Seattle Seahawks after he visited with both teams. But on Wednesday, he decided to stay in the NFC North Division.
ESPN noted that Allen released a statement thanking the Vikings organization and the fans of the team.
"I'd like to take a moment to thank my former teammates, coaches and the staff at the Minnesota Vikings for all of their inspiring work and dedication," he said. "Perhaps more importantly I would like to thank the fans and the Minnesota community. I can only hope that I have left with you all, with even a fraction of the positive support and impact you have had on my life, my foundation and my family.”
The 31-year-old spent four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs and the last six with the Vikings. He is a five time Pro Bowler and has a total of 128.5 sacks for his career.
