Award winning actor and rock star Jared Leto was planning in making a statement at the 2014 Oscars.
E! Online the 30 Seconds to Mars front man Leto almost when in drag as his Dallas Buyers Club character, Rayon.
The 42-year-old actor revealed in an interview with London Evening Standard his intentions for the Oscar night.
"I thought about dragging up for the Oscars, going as Rayon, because I knew that she would have loved to be there," said Leto. "It's so much work for girls to get ready. I was brought up by my mum, so I always had an appreciation of women. But now I have more respect for the process. It's a lot, what women have to do to themselves. But in the end, when you put that final dash of lipstick on and your look all comes together, it really is a glorious reward."
Instead the Oscar winning actor wore a sleek white black suit adorned with a red bowtie. Leto won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor. He had an amazing thank you speech that addresses his family and brought awareness to those who are affected by AIDS.
Leto was then asked how he was able to hide his manhood while playing a transgender woman.
A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do," said Leto. "But, let's just say, there are times when you're not as prepared as you'd like to be..."
