Joan Rivers has made a name for herself as a sharp-tongued comedienne on Fashion Police , but no amount of jokes could save Rivers as she was hit in the face with a cake at a QVC party, thanks to a prank by Miss Piggy.
Is a cake face fashionable?
Joan Rivers was spotted running away from the QVC Red Carpet Style pre-Oscar party with her face, outfit, and hair smeared in icing, reports The Daily Mail . Rivers, 80, sells her jewelry line on QVC and was a guest at the party. Though she looked calm and presentable at her arrival, Rivers was forced to leave the party when she was involved in an altercation with Miss Piggy and ended up with a face full of cake. Rivers and Miss Piggy worked together on Muppets Take Manhattan, but the two exchange heated words in the video. “Plastic surgery, plastic surgery, plastic surgery!” Miss Piggy yells at Rivers, leading to a shoving match between the two. Miss Piggy then pushes Joan Rivers into a huge, multi-tiered cake at the end of the fight, resulting in an awkward moment.
Before the release of the video, spectators were unsure of who the cake-flinging culprit was. Luckily, the fight between Miss Piggy and Joan Rivers seems to be nothing more than a publicity stunt, as Rivers was back later in the night to promote her jewelry line.
