Joan Rivers appeared on Howard Stern’s Sirius XM radio show on Tuesday and had a lot to say about Girls creator and star Lena Dunham.
Rivers criticized Dunham for being overweight and appearing nude frequently on her hit HBO show, saying she was promoting an unhealthy image to those watching.
"You are sending a message out to people saying, 'It's okay! Stay fat! Get diabetes. Everybody die! Lose your fingers," she told Stern, Us Magazine reports.
She also called her “terrific,” but asked the shock jock, “How could she wear dresses above the knee?"
Rivers continued of Dunham’s controversial Vogue cover that she didn’t even recognize it was her. “I didn't know it was her," she said. "I'm on fire over hypocrisy."
“I love that she's funny and love that she's done well. But don't let them laugh at you physically," Rivers added. "If you look the way you look, Lena, and that's fine and you're funny, don't say it's okay that other girls can look like this. Try to look better."
Last year, Stern criticized Dunham by calling her "a little fat girl who kind of looks like Jonah Hill," but she later appeared on the show so he could apologize.
