Johnny Weir has confirmed a split from his husband of two years, Victor Weir-Voronov. The former Olympic ice skater confirmed it on his Twitter page.
“It is with great sadness that I announce that my husband and I are no longer together. My heart hurts, and I wish him well,” he tweeted on Wednesday.

Weir, who was back in the headlines during the Winter Olympics for covering the games alongside Tara Lapinski, continued to say he still believes in love despite the end of his marriage.
“No matter what, I am a cheerleader of love and partnership and creation. I am sad yet I am thankful that I was loved and that I could love,” he wrote.

Weir married his husband, a lawyer, back in 2011 after coming out as gay in 2010.
The split doesn’t come as too much of a surprise considering the domestic violence charges against Weir, who allegedly bit his estranged husband during a fight a month before the Olympics.
Weir told Access Hollywood about the demise of his marriage, “I have been sad for a long time. And unfortunately don’t foresee a way to resolve our current marital issues.”
