ABC’s top rated morning show, Good Morning America has yet another shake up. First Sam Champion left in December and now Josh Elliot is leaving.

According to the NY Daily News, Elliot will be joining NBC Sports. Elliot had been negotiating his contract with ABC for months.

After Robin Roberts signed a deal worth an estimated $14 million, Elliot wanted a huge bump in his $1 million salary notes the Daily Mail.

Elliot asked for $10 million but ABC counter offered with $5 million a source told The Daily News. Then the popular anchor asked for $8 million but ABC refused, offering only $4 million.

Elliot, 42, is credited for helping GMA take the crown ratings from their competitor The Today Show.

Amy Robach has been appointed as Elliot’s replacement. Robach recently recovered from breast cancer and a double mastectomy.

“. . . She thrilled us with two weeks of memorable dispatches from Sochi anchoring Olympic coverage – all between chemo treatments. Amy will be a fierce and formidable full-time addition to our GMA team,” said ABC News chief Ben Sherwood according to the NY Daily News.

The full details surrounding Elliot’s deal with NBC Sports have not been released yet. NBC Sports reps are expected to make an announcement later this week.
