Actress Kate Winslet makes history in the land of glitz and glamour as she received a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
USA Today reports that the 38-year-old actress was awarded the 2,520th star. Divergent co-star Shailene Woodley and Titanic co-star Kathy Bates showed their support to Winslet with their attendance at the ceremony.
The excitement continues for Winslet’s as her upcoming dysotopian Divergent is set to be released Friday March 21, 2014. Winslet’s character is the aggressive Jeanine Matthews. The mother of three told
Entertainment Weekly why she decided to take on that role.
“I was sent a lovely letter by [director] Neil Burger,” said Winslet. “It came with a gigantic packet of Divergent info. I hadn’t heard of the book at that point, and so I devoured it immediately. And on reading it, frankly, I wanted to play a baddie! It’s something I have never done.”
The Oscar winner was having a hard time with the costumes on set with her post-baby body. Winslet gave birth to her third son in December.
“Coming back to set post-baby was a little bit like wheeling a cow into a straitjacket. I felt like an obscure and absurd marshmallow with udders!” said Winslet. “It was actually OK. Once I got over the delight that my costumes still fit — apart from the boob area, which had to be relaxed by about a meter — it was all good.”
Since then Winslet has slimmed down and is looking fabulous. E! Online reports that Winslet was spotted at LAX rocking skinny jeans.
