The death of fashion designer L’Wren Scott has been confirmed as a suicide, the New York City medical examiner’s office said on Wednesday. Meanwhile, her longtime boyfriend Mick Jagger’s band, the Rolling Stones, have rescheduled their Australia and New Zealand tour.
Scott was found dead in her Manhattan apartment Monday morning. She was 49-years-old and had successfully transitioned from a modeling career to one of the top designers in the country and worked with countless celebrities and filmmakers. She had been dating the Stones frontman for over a decade.
A spokeswoman for the medical examiner confirmed to CNN that the cause of death was officially ruled a suicide by “hanging.”
The spokeswoman did say that her remains were claimed, but declined to say by whom.
The Stones were prepared to tour in Australia and New Zealand this month, but decided to postpone until the fall.
“Everyone is working very closely together, and it's looking very likely that the rescheduled dates for Australia/New Zealand will be October-November, 2014,” Frontier Touring promoter Michael Gudinski told Billboard Thursday.
