Lena Dunham is now apologizing for a joke that she tweeted over the weekend in response to a Twitter user telling her she doesn’t always need to be nude.
The Girls creator hosted Saturday Night Live over the weekend, during which she appeared nude for a biblical skit, imagining her HBO show in those times.
When someone wrote to her, "You don't always have to get naked," she wrote back, "Please tell that to my uncle, mister. He's been making me!"
She then deleted it and let her fans know. “I just made and deleted a not so great molestation joke. Sorry guys. I am really sleepy,” she wrote.

She continued she isn’t used to such a big platform, as SNL has a bigger audience than Girls does.
SNL has a way bigger audience than our usual cozy girls audience, so I was seeing a rash of very different kinds of twitter rage.

But I should know better, and do. Even naked girls get embarrassed. Sleep well and thanks for an amazing weekend.

Dunham is a frequent Twitter user and enjoys interacting with fans on the social media platform. She partied with Taylor Swift and others after her SNL debut on Saturday, during which she hosted alongside musical guest The National.
