Comedian Louis C.K.’s acclaimed series Louie has been off the air for over a year and a half and he’s rewarding his fans for the long wait. Not only is the show coming back in May, but FX and C.K. have produced an extra episode.
Louie will be back on FX on May 5 at 10 pm. The network will air two episodes each night for seven weeks, reports Entertainment Weekly. FX had only ordered 13 episodes for season four, but C.K. produced an extra episode.
C.K. writes, directs, executive produces and stars in every episode of the show. He has earned such acclaim from fans and critics that FX was perfectly fine with delaying the show in October 2012 to allow him to continue his stand-up tours and give him time to write. During that time, he also filmed a hilarious part for David O. Russell’s American Hustle.
C.K. won an Emmy for writing in 2012 and Melissa Leo won an Emmy in 2013 for her awkward guest appearance in season three.
The comedian also recently released his 1998 film Tomorrow Night on his website. Despite being screened at festivals, the film never got a distributor at the time.
