NBC is getting audiences prepared to pray for Rosemary’s Baby again. The classic Ira Levin horror tale is getting another adaptation, this time as a mini-series on the peacock network. The first teaser has been released and it really doesn’t show much.
The 10-second video is more like an animated version of the poster that’s been released. It just shows a baby carriage with the sound of a baby crying. There’s ominous music. At the end, it says “coming soon,” as NBC still hasn’t scheduled a premiere date for the series.
Zoe Saldana (Star Trek, Avatar) was cast as Rosemary, a role that launched Mia Farrow’s career when she starred in Roman Polanski’s 1968 film. Patrick J. Adams (Suits) was cast as Rosemary’s husband, played by John Cassavetes in the Polanski movie.
Entertainment Weekly got an early look at the project, posting two photos and the poster. NBC took the story to Paris, although Saldana still gets to wear a Farrow-style pixie cut. Zap2It also got a photo with Saldana and Adams.
Rosemary’s Baby will run four hours and is expected to begin in May. Carole Bouquet and Jason Isaacs co-star.
