Lost's Harold Perrineau and True Blood's Lucy Griffiths are joining Matt Ryan on NBC's paranormal comic book adaptation.
According to Deadline Griffiths will play Liv, the daughter of a late friend to John Constantine, played by Ryan. Liv will become tied up with Constantine when she develops the ability to see the supernatural and finds her life is endangered by demons.
Perrineau's character Manny is a literal guardian angel tasked with watching over Constantine. Although he is only meant to observe, Manny will come to the mystical detective's aid without pause, often by inhabiting other people's bodies.
Also joining the cast is Charles Halford of True Detective as Constantine's oldest friend Chas. Chas appears to be the only one of the three newly announced characters not appearing for the first time in the show. He has been featured in the Hellblazer comics that the series is based on and, as CraveOnline notes, was played by Shia LaBeouf in the 2005 movie starring Keanu Reeves.
The series is written by The Dark Knight's David S. Goyer and Dexter's Daniel Cerone.
