American Horror Story has been one of FX’s most successful shows and creator Ryan Murphy loves keeping his fans guessing about what is coming next for the dark and suspenseful show. There have been several clues and many theories about the setting of the upcoming fourth season of AHS and the rumor mill is spinning faster than ever.
The Huffington Post learned from producers of the show that while they were not absolutely clear about the setting, they had heard mentions about the possibility of a carnival being a central focus of the new setting. These are just rumors that have been going around and nothing has been 100% confirmed yet.
Ryan Murphy has stated in previous interviews that the newest season of the show would be set in 1950, and it will be interesting to see how a carnival is factored into that. The Los Angeles Times reports that Murphy previously commented that this season is a “period piece” and if people wanted to know more about the setting, they needed to go look at the historic events that took place during the 1950s.
Jessica Lange will be returning for the show’s fourth season. Lange has also stated that this upcoming season will be her last. The first three seasons of the show had the settings of a haunted house, an insane asylum and a school for witches. American Horror Story’s season four premiere is set to debut in October 2014.
