The Kentucky Wildcats entered the NCAA tournament as an underdog, which is a unique situation for them. They have not let their new roles affect their play though, as they will enter the Elite Eight as a No. 8 seed. They upset the No. 4 Louisville Cardinals to dethrone the defending champions.

According to ESPN, Louisville held a marginally big lead over Kentucky in the first half. They held a double-digit lead at one point, and they held a seven-point lead with just under five minutes remaining.

The Wildcats began a furious rally and tied the game at 1:27. They took the lead with 39 seconds left on a three-pointer by Aaron Harrison, according to TSN. Wayne Blackshear had the opportunity to tie the game for the Cardinals, but he missed a key free throw. The Wildcats then sealed the game with four clutch free throws.

Julius Randle led the way for Kentucky with 15 points and 12 rebounds, and Russ Smith led Louisville with 23 points.

The Wildcats will face No. 2 seed Michigan for a shot at the Final Four on Sunday.
