New York City authorities say that a medical examiner confirmed that fashion designer L'Wren Scott committed suicide.
The news isn't surprising since police had previously said they found no evidence pointing to the possibility of anything other than a suicide, though no note has been found, reports BBC News.
Scott's friend and fashion critic Cathy Horyn wrote on Tuesday night a tribute on the New York Times website. Horyn wrote how her friend was friendly "despite her Amazonian height and courtesan-like glamour."
The critic noted that Scott was a great teacher and knew many fashion tricks and was the first to call after Horyn's partner passed away earlier this year. Unfortunately though, she found that her Scott seemed "rundown and discouraged" and had to cancel a show.
Scott also reportedly was preparing to shut down her business and was prepared to make an announcement soon. Horyn noted that, "as painful as the decision must have been for her, I wouldn't draw any conclusions from it about her state of mind. Nor should any credence be given to reports of a breakup with Mick [Jagger]. It's rubbish."
Her longtime boyfriend and The Rolling Stones' frontman Jagger opened up about Scott's death on Tuesday, taking to Facebook to write that he was doing his best to try and figure out and understand what made her take her own life. He added that he would "never forget her."
