Since being released by the Philadelphia Eagles in an unexpected move, wide receiver DeSean Jackson has been pursued by many different NFL teams in need of an upgrade at wide receiver. Jackson set career highs in 2013 with 82 receptions, 1,332 receiving yards and nine touchdown catches.
According to SB Nation, the Oakland Raiders are now considered the favorites to land Jackson's services. He let the Raiders know of his interest in playing for them before his release. The Raiders have done research on Jackson before making a decision. This is likely due to his alleged gang ties, which was supposedly a factor in his release.
The Raiders were Jackson's favorite team growing up, and he attended Cal, according to NFL.
The Raiders would greatly improve their receiving corps from last season by signing Jackson after upgrading their quarterback position with Matt Schaub. They already signed former Green Bay Packers receiver James Jones, and they would still have Denarius Moore and Rod Streater on their roster as serviceable options.
