Orioles’ third basemen Manny Machado has not run in five days due to knee surgery and is not sure when he will be ready to play. He announced Sunday that his left knee might not be ready to start opening day.
Machado,21, knows that the baseball season is long and he is not worried about missing a few games at the start of the season. According to espn Machado said, “…I'm not worried about playing games yet. I just want to get healthy. Once I get healthy I'll be ready to roll and keep playing and just get back into playing mode."
According to cbssports Machado was scheduled to have a re-evaluation appointment on this upcoming Tuesday, but he will miss it due to soreness and scar tissue.
The Orioles have made it clear that they do not want Machado to rush back and that he will start when he is confident that he can. Last season Machado won both the Gold Glove Award and the AL Platinum Glove Award.
