Seth Meyers ended his first week as host of Late Night by letting someone else run the show.
During his interview with Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart the former Weekend Update anchor brought up McKellen's dream of hosting a show like Late Night to which McKellen responded "like this" with a grimace. Nevertheless Meyers unhesitantly handed over the reins. He took the guest seat while McKellen sat down behind the desk and Stewart went over to conduct the house band led by Fred Armisen.

Meyers' generosity with the spotlight is one of the reasons he was chosen to succeed current Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon on Late Night. Lorne Michaels, who is executive producer on both shows, told Rolling Stone "Seth is truly happy when others succeed. You can see it in his face."
Additionally, Meyers talked with McKellen and Stewart about the duo's famous Instagram photos, including the ones taken at their Super Bowl party and this week's NY Knicks game. Of course, the pair plugged the dual plays they are starring in on Broadway: No Man's Land and Waiting for Godot.
Meyers was also joined on Friday by Chicago PD's Sophia Bush and comedian Michael Che.
