Paul Walker’s mother, Cheryl Ann Walker, has filed a petition to get legal guardianship of his 15-year-old daughter Meadow Raine.

People reports that the late The Fast and the Furious actor passed away on November 30 in Santa Clarita, California due to a car crash that exploded in flames.

Meadow Raine’s mother, Rebecca Jo Soteros, and Walker were never married, but they shared custody of their daughter.

E! Online reports that Cheryl Ann wants to be Meadow Raine’s guardian because “the mother has a drinking problem." Meadow Raine had been living with Cheryl Ann prior to Walker’s fatal accident. Cheryl Ann stated that Soteros also lives with her in the house in Los Angeles, California.

Meadow Raine is set to inherit $16 million. If Cheryl Ann is awarded the petition of guardianship then, “petitioner will act as the guardian of the person and estate of the minor.”

Walker’s father, Paul Walker Senior, told E! Online in December that his granddaughter was having a hard time grieving the loss of her father.

"Meadow's taking it really tough, but there again, she has family around her and some very, very loving friends and everybody they're all close," said Walker Senior. “There's a lot of hugging. A lot of hand-holding. Wonderful people coming telling us how sorry they are."
