Paul Walker's mother petitions for legal guardianship of his daughter

Cheryl Ann Walker, Paul Walker's mother, petitioned for legal guardianship of his 15-year-old daughter, Meadow Raine, Tuesday. Raine and her mother, Rebecca Jo Soteros, did not know of the filed documents and were “disgusted” by the action.

As previously reported, Walker petitioned for legal guardianship of Raine due to an apparent drinking problem of Soteros'. Prior to Walker’s sudden death in November, Raine had been living with Cheryl Ann and Soteros.

Raine and Soteros first found out about the petition when they saw it on TMZ, reported AceShowBiz. Previous discussions had been held about the possibility. However, the mother and daughter had never been told that Meadow’s grandmother was going to follow through with the documents.

With the death of her father, Raine will inherit $16 million. Soteros and Walker were never married, but shared custody of their daughter. If Cheryl Ann attains guardianship, she will act as the guardian of Raine and her estate.
