A hearing in the guardianship case of Paul Walker’s daughter has been delayed. Walker’s mother, Cheryl Ann Walker, recently filed for guardianship of the late Fast & Furious actor’s 15-year-old daughter, Meadow Raine Walker.
Meadow currently lives with her mother, Rebecca Jo Soteros, who never married Walker. They did share custody, but Cheryl Ann filed for guardianship last month. She reportedly believes that Soteros has a “drinking problem.”
According to the Associated Press, proceedings in the case have been delayed. Cheryl Ann’s lawyer, Bela G. Lugosi, said that the two sides are going to try to work out an agreement. while Walker’s will does call for Cheryl Ann to take care of Meadow, Soteros is still living. Soteros hasn’t opposed the guardianship.
RadarOnline is also reporting that the judge in the case assigned an investigator to meet with Meadow and the family.
The next hearing is set for April 30 and by that time, Lugosi hopes the two sides reach an agreement.
Earlier this week, it was determined that speed was the cause of the crash that killed Walker, 40, in November.
