"Happy" singer Pharrell Williams will be replacing CeeLo Green as a coach on the next season of NBC's singing competition The Voice. NBC notes that the rest of the coaches will be confirmed later on.

NBC Entertainment president of alternative and late night programming Paul Telegdy said of the Academy Award nominee, "It's been a huge year for Pharrell, with recognition for his contribution to the world of music," specifically noting his Oscar nomination for "Happy" and working on "Get Lucky" with Daft Punk.

"His dominance in record sales in 2014, coupled with his incomparable accomplishments in the world of fashion and design, making him an irresistible addition to 'The Voice' family."

Pharrell has previously appeared on the show to help out in season four as an advisor to team Usher. He also performed "Blurred Lines" on the show back in May with Robin Thicke.

He also just released his solo album G.I.R.L. quite recently and it landed at the top spot in sales on iTunes worldwide, plus his track "Happy" for Despicable Me 2 has sold over 5 million copies.

The Voice has done well this season for NBC and is averaging a 4.7 rating for the season, where it is the top unscripted program among the top four networks. The singing competition has improved over season five by almost 10 percent and Pharrell's addition might help the show even more as he continues to dominate music in 2014.
